Geberit Know-How

Project overview
Macdonald Windsor Hotel features 120 contemporary bedrooms, many of which have views of the surrounding area including Windsor Castle and the Guildhall. There are also seven function suites for events ranging from conferences to private dining. The hotel development was not without its challenges, as aside from the new-build section, the plans for the site also included 21 heritage suites to sit behind the façade of the original building, once a department store, which had to comply with Listed Buildings consent. The shop had a long heritage within the Windsor community, serving the Royal Family from 1813 and it is a site local residents know well.
Why Geberit?
Guests staying at such a prestigious venue would expect nothing less than high-end luxury, and the bathrooms needed to be comfortable and inviting. Wall-hung sanitaryware was therefore the natural choice, and the Geberit Duofix framing system was the easy to install, reliable option. Geberit also gave the designers freedom of choice when it came to the finishing touches too, with a wide range of flush plate styles and finishes enabling them to be creative down to the very last detail.
A spokesperson for Amanda Rosa Interiors said: “Our client asked for light, bright, glossy bathrooms with generous wet-room shower areas. Wall-hung sanitaryware was used throughout the bathrooms, which we chose for the Macdonald Windsor because it gives a modern, fresh look and opens up the floor space, which was particularly helpful in the smaller en suites. We opted for Geberit’s Duofix frame throughout because of their reliability and strength.” The bright, clean and contemporary feel of the hotel bathrooms was completed with the Geberit Bolero flush plate, chosen to complement the angular design of the brassware.
